Drop in anchors are also commonly known as wedge anchors or red heads. They are a forced expansion hammer set anchor which require setting with the use of a setting tool. The cone insert expands the anchor when driven with the setting tool and hammer.

They have a shallow embedment and are the ideal solution when trying to avoid contact with rebar.
